I am the Career Development Fellow in English at The Queen’s College. My research focuses on the intersections of early modern literature (primarily Shakespearean), medicine, and philosophy, with a particular interest in emotion and embodiment. My current book project, provisionally titled Ecstatic Subjects: Ecstasy in the Work of Shakespeare and his Contemporaries, considers how experiences of ecstasy captured the early modern imagination. I am also working on a Cambridge Element on issues of attention and distraction at Shakespeare’s Globe, and writing the Introduction to the new Oxford World Classics edition of Shakespeare’s narrative poems.
