International Consortium of Centres for Early Modern Studies (ICCEMS)

In 2024 Oxford’s Centre for Early Modern Studies joined an International Consortium of Centres for Early Modern Studies (ICCEMS). At present, ICCEMS has members from Australian National University, the London Renaissance Seminar, the Paris Renaissance Seminar (PEMS) and the Irish Renaissance Seminar.  ICCEMS has a three year rotating leadership, beginning with ANU 2024-26.

The aim of the Consortium is to enable exchange, networking, collaboration, research at scale, providing a platform for the following possibilities:

  1. The exchange of ideas, seminars, workshops and sharing of expertise.
  2. Networking across institutional and national boundaries.
  3. Collaboration on conference panels and streams, partnerships in grants, visiting fellowships.
  4. Research at scale, building large research programs, enabling cross-institutional partnerships.

An inaugural ICCEMS event was hosted at Merton College, Oxford in January 2024. You can read the report on that event here.
